Dr Mark Gee

is a principal research scientist at the National Physical Laboratory. He joined the National Physical Laboratory after completing a DPhil in creep crack growth of low alloy steels at Oxford University. He is also a member of the International Advisory Editorial Board of Tribology International. He convenes the meetings of the UK Forum on Friction and Wear Testing, and is the UK National Representative on Technical Work Area 1: Wear Test Methods of VAMAS. He manages projects which are concerned with the development of an improved infrastructure for friction and wear testing in the UK. Particular research interests are the mechanisms of wear for ceramics and other hard materials.
