Dr Nigel Brandon, of Imperial College London, was appointed as head of the Electrochemical Engineering research group within the TH Huxley School of Environment, Earth Sciences and Engineering in September 1998. Prior to that he spent six years at the Rolls Royce Strategic Research Centre following an 8 year period at BP Research. The Electorchemical Engineering Research Group comprises 7 PhD students and 3 PDRAs with two on-going PhD projects looking at the relationship between tribology and electrochemistry. Much of this work is carried out in collaboration with the Tribology Group of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Imperial College.
