Aims and Scope
The International Network of Women in Tribology WTrib_NET was launched at a breakfast meeting at the 14th International Conference on Wear of Materials, held in Washington DC March 29-April 3rd 2003. In the past 10 years, there has been an increasing number of women participating in International Conferences in Tribology. The number of women submitting papers to journals in the field has also increased. This network recognizes the increasing importance of the contribution of women to the subject area and aims to provide an informal mechanism for communication between women in the field in relation to professional issues. While the network will be of interest primarily to women, input from our male colleagues is very welcome. Publicity of the network is being sponsored by the Institute of Physics UK.
