December 2017

The TriboS and ESRU groups in Strathclyde, members of the ReC-ASM team, are very pleased along with the CDT in Wind Energy to be involved in two major grants in Tribology of Renewable Energy Devices. The launch of SPIRE 2 (6.7 m euros) was in Belfast on October 27th 2017. The Strathclyde team will be working with SPIRE 2 colleagues in University of Ulster, Queens University and Dundalk Institute of Technology as part of this collaboration which on the Glasgow side involves 5 PhDs and 1 PDRA researchers. The TriboS group is also collaborating in the EPSRC CAMREG project with Edinburgh and Cranfield Universities on materials for energy with a specific focus on tidal and wind turbine Tribology and Corrosion.

Latest Updates

September 2015

The ReC-ASM Project research teams participated in the 11th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference, EWTEC2015, in Nantes (France), from the 6th to 11th September 2015 and presented the project outcomes.

July 2015

The 2nd annual meeting of the ReC-ASM Project was held at The Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC) at the University of Strathclyde in July 2015.

November 2014

The ReC-ASM Project research teams presented their initial test results in the SuperGen UK Centre for Marine Energy Research Annual Assembly, Edinburgh.
